Karos for developer tools and open source
Developers skip ads. They read release notes.
Karos reads your site, your changelog page and your socials, and turns what you ship into X posts, Reddit replies and articles for developers. You approve every one.

Developers trust people, not pages
You build for developers. They block ads, distrust marketing words and decide by reading the README, the docs and what other developers say. They talk on X, in subreddits for their language and stack, on Hacker News and in Discord servers.
Trust there is earned by being useful in public: clear release notes, an honest comparison, a good answer in someone else's thread. A release nobody hears about moves nothing.
Karos treats each release as the moment to speak. It reads your site and your changelog page, you can tell it in chat what went out, and a release can come with a suggested campaign, drafted in plain technical words.
Where your buyers are
Developers follow maintainers and tools here. A release post with a short snippet or a before and after travels on its own.

Subreddits for your language and stack are where people ask for the tool you built. Karos finds the threads and drafts one useful reply for each, with your name on it.
Drafts you post yourself.
Tutorials and how-tos are what developers search for, and what AI answers quote.
Publishes to your connected site.
One issue a month for the people who opted in: the release, the best article, a fix worth a look.
Ready for you to send.
Left out, and why
- Instagram and TikTok. Rarely where developers pick tools. Karos leaves them out unless you ask.
- Hacker News. There is no Hacker News channel. A Show HN is yours to write and post. You can ask Karos for help with the wording in chat.
The goal to pick
Goal: More visibility
For open source, being known comes before leads. For a paid developer tool, switch to More leads once people know the name.
Karos proposes the channels for your type of business and goal. For a developer audience, name X and Reddit and they become the plan, at the number of posts you set.
How the goal turns into a plan: How it works.
PublishingMore leads for Karos
A short film: at 10:00 the approved X post is published, at 12:30 a LinkedIn post you approved earlier goes out, and the approved Reddit reply is copied for you to post yourself.
A sample week
Sample drafts for a made-up open-source command-line tool for database migrations. Made up to show the shape, not a customer's posts. Each one waits in your daily review, where you approve, edit or pass it.

Samplev2.0 is out. Migrations now run in a transaction by default. A failed one rolls back cleanly instead of leaving half a schema behind. migrate up --dry-run prints the SQL first. Changelog in the reply.

SampleA thread in a Postgres subreddit: “How do you test migrations before running them in production?”
We run every migration against a copy of production data in CI first, and fail the build if it takes longer than a set time. A dry run catches most surprises: print the SQL, read it, then apply it. (I maintain an open-source migration tool, but this works with any of them.)

What Karos does not do
- Karos does not post on Hacker News, Discord, GitHub Discussions or Reddit for you. Reddit replies are drafts you post yourself.
- Reading releases straight from a GitHub repository is coming soon. It does not read private code.
- It does not edit your docs, your README or your changelog. It writes about them.
- It does not count stars, installs or package downloads.
- Paid ads are coming soon.
Questions
- Does Karos read my code?
- No. Karos reads your website, your changelog page, your socials and your competitors. Reading releases from a public GitHub repository is coming soon. It does not read private repositories.
- Will the drafts get technical details wrong?
- They can, like any draft. That is why every draft waits for you: you approve, edit or pass it, and nothing goes out until you approve it. When you pass, you can give the reason, such as a wrong fact, and the feedback loop uses it in the next drafts.
- Does Karos post on Reddit or Hacker News?
- No. Reddit replies are drafts you post from your own account. There is no Hacker News channel: a Show HN is yours to write and post.
- Is it right for an open-source project with no revenue?
- If you want the project known, yes: pick More visibility. Starter is $29 a month for one campaign at a time, with a free preview before you pay.
